Yup he is back. Again. Following the success of his 2020 EP Weak Beneath The Knees, Irish alt-country artist Podge
Lane returns with his new single, Don’t Take It from Me, a mellow track delving further into the folk-rock sounds explored in his last EP, while continuing to integrate experimental elements to create a denser soundscape.

Don’t Take It from Me is about growth, and trying not to make those same mistakes, while having the songs protagonist try to drag Podge back into familiar habits of self-doubt and criticism. ’I love a good story song, especially when I can talk about me,’ Podge tells absolutely no one ,‘I just wanted to get out this feeling that I had grown comfortable in myself as an artist and was really happy with what I was making and how I was doing it, so it felt good to manifest those worries of repeating old habits and creating a sort of goodbye old ‘friend’ song for them.’
