He is back. Whether you like it or not, he's back.

Written late March / early April 2020, Podge Lane returns with his 4th EP, Weak Beneath the Knees. His first record of brand new material since 2019’s Falling Backwards Into Nothing Podge has used this time to reflect on the presence of fear in his life, and how he has moved through it (although not always seamlessly).

‘I tried to make a record that felt immediate, panicked and almost a little broken in parts’ Podge confessed again, to NO ONE, what even is real??

‘It is a record about all those things you don't want people to know, so obviously, I made it into a whole record!’ Isn't he just so quirky?

Weak Beneath the Knees is a very direct record, dealing with Podge’s fears head on. From the unabashed failure anthem ‘Knockabout’, evoking a Springsteen esque triumph in being labeled the fool, to the direct nature of ‘Lawn’, an alt-country ‘love song’ with the piercing opening line ‘Hi, i'm doing great, except for this small pain and unbearable weight in my chest.’ All the tracks on the album help the narrative of someone looking inward to try to figure out how to move forward, without entirely trying to leave the past behind.
